In October 2026 the owner and the production manager of a plastics recycler from Katowice, Poland visited ThoYu, Zhengzhou ThoYu Mechanical & Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd., to run their own feedstock through a plastic pallet moulding machine. The company has granulated mixed PP and HDPE industrial scrap for eleven years: crates, drums, pipe offcuts and injection moulding rejects collected across Upper Silesia. The client told us regrind margins no longer cover their processing cost, so they wanted to move one step downstream.

Why a Polish Granulator Decided to Press Pallets Instead of Selling Pellets

Selling one ton of PP regrind returns a thin margin that moves with resin prices. Pressing that same ton into roughly 75 to 80 finished pallets converts a commodity into a manufactured product with a stable price and repeat buyers in logistics, food distribution and automotive parts.

Two conditions had to be met. The pallet had to be moulded directly from flake without a separate pelletising step, because a granulator line already occupies the floor space. And the machine had to tolerate a mixed stream that changes every week. That is the duty a mixed PP HDPE plastic pallet machine is built for, and precisely what a plastic pallet manufacturing machine designed for virgin resin cannot do. A conventional granulator melts, strands, water-cools and cuts, then the pallet machine melts the pellets again. Every heat history degrades the polymer chain, so the material is processed twice and loses molecular weight twice.

Trial Results on the 1,600 Ton Hydraulic Plastic Pallet Machine

Four batches were tested: We ran the client’s own mixed stream through the press and adjusted temperature, dwell time and metering until the pallet passed the client’s own load test.. All four moulded acceptably.
