In Iran, an old matchstick factory once buzzing with the sounds of production has fallen silent. The rise of lighters rendered the industry nearly obsolete, leaving behind piles of matchsticks, sawdust, and wood waste that became a burden for the facility.
These unusable materials—sawdust, wood shavings, old pallets, and even unsold matchsticks—posed not only disposal costs but also storage challenges.
Everything changed when they discovered the innovative ThoYu wood recycling machine.
After cooperation began, we conducted trial production using the client’s sample materials. We successfully molded a batch of small trays, confirming that the waste wood could be effectively formed.
Soon after, a dedicated technical team traveled to Iran for an on-site assessment.
Faced with mixed, damp wood waste of varying sizes, we established a critical preprocessing phase.
Efficient Shredding and Drying
ThoYu’s wood recycling technology features advanced sorting and crushing mechanisms, capable of handling complex materials such as nailed wood, old pallets, and tree branches—reducing them to granules as fine as 8mm.

After shredding, precise drying is essential. The rotary dryer stabilizes wood chip moisture at around 5%, ensuring optimal compression quality.
Notably, when using MDI eco-friendly glue, well-preserved waste materials can skip the drying stage entirely, simplifying the process and reducing investment costs.
Intelligent Molding for Sustainable Outcomes
The ThoYu wood recycling machine features an advanced three-beam, four-column design, equipped with high-precision molds and a PLC intelligent control system. This ensures accurate molding and stable operation, enabling continuous and efficient production.
From shredding and drying to gluing and molding, the entire process remains transparent and controllable.
The machinery was successfully delivered, installed, and calibrated, producing the first batch of 1200×1000mm pallets. Pallets made with MDI glue also benefit from a visible “oil film” that provides moisture and water resistance, enhancing product quality.

Today, the factory has not only cleared years of accumulated wood waste but also actively recycles old pallets and waste wood from the surrounding area. As the factory manager proudly stated, “What was once a ‘waste challenge’ has now become our competitive advantage.”
The Advantages of Press Wood Pallets
Compared with traditional wooden pallets, the pressed wood pallets made using the wood recycling machine have more advantages in terms of space utilization, strength and ease of export.
With a reinforced structure supporting dynamic loads of 1.5 tons and static loads of 6 tons, their nail-free, rounded-corner design reduces cargo damage and safety risks.
They save 70% stacking space—for example, 20 pallets stack only 0.75 meters high, compared to 2.7 meters for wooden ones.
The high-temperature, high-pressure production eliminates pests, exempting them from export fumigation and speeding up customs clearance.
